My first experience of TED event.

My first experience of TED event.

30th anniversary of TED in 2014, Vancouver.

The 30th anniversary of TED was decided to be organized in a new venue – new convention center of TED in Vancouver, Canada. This spectacular TED event is going on these days from 17th of March to 21st of March. More than 100 best speakers of all time and 1200 paid attendees. Amazing, isn’t it?

What is TED?

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world. To get more information go to TED.com.

Haseeb Tariq is an exchange student in Lund University. Haseeb Tariq is a participant of «Social Innovation in Digital Context» program and working on his project Kauzz. He was the curator of Pakistan’s first youth oriented TEDx event. So, he came up with an idea to show a live stream from Vancouver the evening simulcast of the second day of TED2014: The Next Chapter.

The idea was supported by Lund University Internet Unstitute and fortunately this event that connected many great travelers, students, event organizers and local people — has happened yesterday in the cosy town of Landskrona.

Landskrona is the 5th biggest city in Skania and it situated on the west coast between Malmo and Helsinborg.

It was my first time visiting Landskrona and i found this place quite homey, quiet and fabulous. Because of these sweet houses. Since i had not that much time to explore the city i can share only with these pictures:)

Swedish «summer villas» are just amazing. All the accurately made small details make these houses to look like pictures from fairytale books. Again, I have got a new dream – to build a nice small house somewhere in the heart of nature in Kyrgyzstan. May all our dreams to come true:)

TEDxLandskrona had been arranged in the historical castle called Citadell.
Citadellet has a rich history. By the years of 1940 it had been forced labor facility for women, later after World War 2 it became a refugee asylum, now it is historical monument. Citadellet is really great reflection of past ages. I have seen such castles only in old historical movies. Without doubts-it is worth place to visit!

Back to TED2014.

Streaming live from Vancouver to Landskrona Citadellet, the simulcast had featured sessions 2 and 3, with nine speakers from the TED2014 programme’s Retrospect and Reshape segments.

Here you can watch speak of Edward Snowden about internet freedom. He appears to TED2014 by telepresence robot ,
it’s pretty cool.

Also an interesting speak was made by two local speakers: Joakim Lundblad, senior policy analyst at the Chamber of Commercein Southern Sweden, and Stefan Larsson, head of LUII and a sociolegal research with great interest in metaphors and the internet.

To sum up, I just want to add that TED is awesome! If you are in NY you just have to visit the main office of TED for me 🙂
